Introduction from Dame Helen Hyde – Founding Patron
“I am pleased to introduce The 1704 Society to you. The Society is a club exclusively for alumnae who want to support their school through regular monthly, quarterly, or annual donations.
During my tenure as Headmistress, I spearheaded the creation of the school’s charity, the Women of Vision Trust, to secure long-term financial security via voluntary donations. I am delighted to see the continuation of the school’s philanthropic traditions through The 1704 Society and am proud to be its Founding Patron.
It was my immense privilege to serve this unique school, and many of you, for 29 years. I witnessed just how important an education at Watford Grammar School for Girls was in shaping the lives of the students, encouraging them to become ambitious and creative adults and preparing them for the future.
If you are a proud Watford Girl who wants to be a part of enabling the school to continue to provide an excellent education to future generations of students from modern learning spaces, I ask you to join me as a member of The 1704 Society.”
