FACE THE FUTURE 2019 - A BIG THANK YOU

Alumnae and Friends of the School return....
FTF 2019 Break-time for Interviewers
FTF 2019 Break-time for Interviewers
Following the tradition of recent years the sun came out yet again for FACE the Future on Friday 28th June.  Former staff and students volunteered along with members of the school community to provide Year 12 with invaluable interview experience and feedback.  Rachel Aldridge and Sonal Raikundalia had prepared over many months and their organisation paid off with the event running smoothly from start to finish.  The preparation involved pairing interviewers with student interviewees, teaming them up with a supporting member of teaching staff and allocating a interview rooms for almost 200 students.

Whilst Miriam Braham may have handed the FTF mantle to Rachel, she thankfully hasn’t entirely cut her ties with the event or the school and returned as an interviewer for the day.  Approximately half of the 80ish interviewers were alumnae of the school; some former staff and some former students.  Samantha Heilling née North returned to us and commented that, ‘the girls I met were incredible and a real credit to themselves and the school’.  Samantha is already looking forward to being involved next year.

From the students’ perspective, once their nerves settled, they appreciated how useful the event was.  Where possible students were partnered with interviewers within the field of their study/career interest and again they appreciated the opportunity to talk to someone with relevant experience.

If you would like to be involved in next year’s event, please let us know by selecting the relevant options via your profile area or on the ‘I can help’ pop-up when you next log into the website.
