THE LEGACY OF HELEN GIACHARDI

A fitting tribute to Helen's memory...

As reported in last year's newsletter, Former Deputy Head Girl (1965), Helen Margaret Giachardi (née Fraser) passed away in December 2019.

In 2020 Dr David Giachardi contacted Sylvia Tai to advise her of the legacy bequeathed to WGGS by his late wife. Helen held the school in high regard and had a ‘great fondess for her time’ here. After her studies she took up a teaching career and was Head of Biology at Queenswood School, near Potters Bar for many years. Helen’s legacy gift to WGGS was gratefully received and, in a fitting tribute to Helen’s memory, the school purchased up to date Biology body models and organs to be used by the Biology students for many years to come.
