Reunions |
This year WGGS celebrates 320 years since the school was first established by Dame Elizabeth Fuller. To commemorate our anniversary, we invited back all our past generations of Head Girls and their Teams to join our current Headteacher Miss Tai for afternoon tea.
It was wonderful to meet so many Head Girls and their Deputies, with our most senior, Jeanette who was Head Girl in 1953 and the youngest, Tito and Lily, who were Head Girl and Deputy in 2020. Jeanette was kind enough to bring old copies of Speech Day and Founder’s Day leaflets from the 1950s and the first ever published OGA newsletter dated September 1955!
Laura Craig Grey (Head Girl 1990) treated us to a copy of the legendary ‘Head Girl Team book’ from different decades which is passed down from Head Girl Team to Head Girl Team. It was a fascinating read that contained an anecdotal history of Prefect duties and responsibilities!
With so much leadership energy in the room, it was a very inspiring afternoon and we look forward to more regular visits from our Head Girl Team alumnae.
