A big thank you to those who came to the reunion event.

Last Thursday evening, the corridors and Main Hall were once again full of the laughter and chatter of Watford Girls, however with a slight difference to the school day. These Watford Girls were past students who left WGGS during the 80s, 90s and 00s.

We welcomed over 160 alumnae guests back to school, where they enjoyed delicious cocktails from the WGGSPA and delectable canapés expertly made by Innovate, our caterers.

It was a privilege to see the excitement and sometimes emotional responses from our past students as they met up with friends and classmates they hadn’t met in a while.

The corridors, classrooms and buildings held memories for many, and stories were exchanged with our current students from Y13, Y12 and Y10 who served as expert hosts giving tours to their past counterparts.

The alumnae were also treated to talks from former student and current Director for Teaching and Training, Jane Hart, a former student and current Trustee for the Women of Vision, Neha Chopra and newly elected Head Girl Isha Tailor who gave a very successful first speech in her new role. 50 years separated the guest speakers, but all spoke with great enthusiasm and passion about their time at Watford Girls, as well as sharing enlightening stories that surprised some!

The evening continued with tours of the school with Lady’s Close, the Main Hall, the Headmistress office and the Library being some of the highlights.

“It was amazing to be back in this school” was the sentiment of many and the reason the OGA continues to grow.

If you were a past student and can help with career events, talks, guest speaking or supporting the school, please email us at oldgrammarians@watfordgirls.herts.sch.uk  we’d love to hear from you.
