We recently learnt about the sad death of Mrs Marianne Cordingley, who served Watford Girls as both a Religious Studies teacher, Assistant Head and then a long serving Governor.
Marianne represented the very best values as a member of the Watford Girls Community. She is remembered as a teacher with very high expectations, both in and outside of the classroom, with a quiet sense of humour. As an Assistant Head, she spearheaded the introduction of Graduate Teacher Training in schools, resulting in Watford Girls becoming a national leader. We were pleased that she continued to work in teacher training when she left the school. She will be sadly missed.
