Dear Parents, Alumnae and Friends of the School

I would like to invite you to a meeting to discuss the future of the swimming pool at WGGS as detailed above.  I wrote in July to explain that the swimming pool had come under threat of closure due to the rising costs of maintenance. The replacement of the very expensive air-handling unit was only possible due to a one off donation and the Women of Vision fund.   Unfortunately, this is not a sustainable solution for the future of the pool and I am therefore inviting members of the school community, present and past, to attend a meeting in order for me to gauge the level of interest in developing an action group.

At the meeting I will present the current issues regarding maintenance, the value the pool has in our curriculum and relationships with the local community and a tentative vision for the future. If you would like to have your voice heard, participate in fundraising activities or have expertise in campaigns of this scale, I do hope you will be able to come along.

Best wishes

Sylvia Tai
Headmistress
